Figure founder June Ou and Traction and Scale CEO Richie Hecker will serve as advisors to advance the city's digital asset development. Adams emphasized that New York City values the long-term potential of technology and welcomes companies in the cryptocurrency, blockchain, Web3, or fintech sectors to do business. Since taking office in 2022, Adams has incorporated digital assets into his policy platform and has accepted Bitcoin as payment for his salary.
