According to ChainCatcher, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) cryptocurrency working group announced it will hold a roundtable on May 12 themed 'Tokenization - Asset on Chain: The Intersection of Traditional Finance and Decentralized Finance.'

Hester M. Peirce, head of the SEC cryptocurrency working group, stated that tokenization may fundamentally change many aspects of financial markets.

The meeting will be held at SEC headquarters in Washington at 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM on May 12, Eastern Daylight Time, open to the public and broadcast live on the SEC's official website.

In addition, the SEC announced that the previously scheduled roundtable on 'Decentralized Finance and the Spirit of America' on June 6 has been rescheduled to June 9.
