According to PANews, the U.S. House Financial Services Committee has passed the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act (H.R. 1919) with a vote of 27 in favor and 22 against. The bill, introduced by House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, seeks to prohibit the Federal Reserve from issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC). It also aims to prevent the Fed from providing financial services directly to individuals or using CBDCs to implement monetary policy.
