According to Odaily, venture capital firm a16z has called on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to provide clear guidance on token issuance. During a meeting with the SEC's cryptocurrency task force, led by Commissioner Hester Peirce, a16z emphasized that such guidance could prevent the trend of issuing tokens exclusively to non-U.S. citizens. This trend, they argue, effectively transfers the ownership of U.S.-developed blockchain technology overseas.
