According to Odaily, the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced on X that the Department of Education has ceased funding 18 grants totaling $226 million to various comprehensive centers. These centers primarily offer Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) advisory services. An application from one of the centers highlighted that embedding DEI reviews in all deliverables and materials ensures it is not a one-time specific task. Additionally, a study conducted in 2019, which cost $8 million, was unable to measure the causal impact of the centers' work.
