In his tweet, Gensler expressed that serving as the Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and working for the public has been a lifetime honor. During his tenure, he updated regulations for the stock and treasury markets and reduced the settlement cycle. Additionally, he noted that over $2.7 billion was returned to harmed investors.
