🟢 How Bitcoin mining changes every 4 years — a brief overview

Bitcoin mining is not just about farms and noise. The main thing is the reward that miners receive for each block found. And every ~4 years, it is halved — this is called halving.

Here’s how it has gone:

— 2012: it was 25 BTC per block → 3,600 BTC mined per day
— 2016: now 12.5 BTC → 1,800 BTC per day
— 2020: only 6.25 BTC → 900 BTC per day
— 2024: currently 3.125 BTC → 450 BTC mined per day

And at the beginning?
— In 2010, miners received 50 BTC per block — that’s 7,200 BTC per day!

What does this mean: — Mining has become harder, and the reward is smaller
— Energy costs are rising, while income is falling
— But this is what makes Bitcoin scarcer with each cycle

And yes, there are only <1.4 million BTC left until the final limit of 21 million.
