Community Approves Proposal to Rename Toncoin to Gram
The Open Network community has officially approved the proposal to rename the native token from
$TON to GRAM, with 81.22% of votes in favor during the community poll.
According to the plan, the change will take effect at 12:00 UTC on June 15, 2026. The blockchain network will retain the name The Open Network; only the token name, trading ticker, and branding logo will be changed.
Notably, this process does not require a token swap, bridging, receiving new tokens, or any form of asset migration. All balances, wallet addresses, smart contracts, NFTs, staking positions, and DeFi applications will remain intact.
The voting took place from June 1 to June 8, 2026. Projects within the ecosystem are expected to sync their updates to the new name GRAM starting June 15, while the complete transition across the ecosystem is anticipated to finish before June 22.
The rebranding is seen as a significant milestone for the TON ecosystem as the project aims to unify the identity of the native token with its historical name, Gram.
