Iโm sharing this to protect someone else from the trap I fell into. ๐
Last month, I logged into my wallet, expecting my USDT paycheck...
Instead, I saw THIS:
> "Pay 20% activation fee to unlock your funds."
My heart dropped. My wallet showed thousands in USDT โ but it was all a LIE.
Hereโs what really happened ๐
๐ The Scam: Fake Wallet Balance via Custom Node
I had unknowingly connected my wallet to a fake custom node.
It showed a fake balance that wasnโt actually on the blockchain.
I was this close to sending more money to โunlockโ funds that didnโt even exist.
Support finally told me:
> โYour wallet is connected to a scam node. Your real balance is zero.โ ๐ต
I felt sick. Violated. Embarrassed.
But Iโm not staying silent โ I want YOU to avoid this mess.
๐ง How to Avoid This Scam:
๐ 1. NEVER Add Custom Nodes You Donโt Trust
Only use nodes from official wallet sources. If you donโt recognize it โ donโt touch it.
๐ 2. Always Verify with Blockchain Explorers
Donโt rely on what your wallet shows.
If the blockchain doesnโt match โ itโs a scam.
๐ฉ 3. "Activation Fee" = RED FLAG
You NEVER need to pay a fee to access your crypto. If someone says otherwise, theyโre lying.
๐ก Bonus: I now use TokenPocket with default trusted nodes. Plus, I double-check everything on chain.

๐ฃ๏ธ Final Thought:
I almost lost more trying to โunlockโ funds that werenโt real.
If this post stops just ONE person from falling for the same trick โ itโs worth it.
