#AirdropGuide AirDrops are marketing/advertising campaigns that web3 based projects adopt to onboard users/testers, drive traction and adoption.
There are two types of Airdrop campaigns-
i. Retroactive drops: Retroactive AirDrop campaigns focuses on rewarding past onchain behaviors of real users. This method is often adopted by projects that have gone live or in beta phase. Reward criteria could range from holding the native token of the project, having its NFT, transaction volume, LP (Liquity Provider), staking, etc. Participating in retroactive airdrop often requires money.
ii. “Non-retrodrops: This type of Airdrop campaigns are mainly adopted by projects in testnet phase. The idea is to attract new users and create more awareness. Non-retrodrops doesn’t involve real money, participants interact with the project using faucets (test tokens).
Sunmary: The end goal of Airdrop campaign is to create buzz about a project, and drive adoption.
