Apple's cooperation with OpenAI has further deepened. According to the agreement reached earlier by the two parties, Apple will obtain an observer seat on the OpenAI board of directors. This is part of the cooperation plan between the two parties to integrate OpenAI's artificial intelligence services into Apple's products.
Apple researcher Phil Schiller, a former marketing executive who oversaw Apple's App Store and product launch events, will take on the observer position, Bloomberg reported on July 2.
As an observer, Schiller is entitled to attend board meetings but does not have the right to vote or exercise director powers. Although he has not yet attended any meetings, he is expected to start doing so later this year, though that arrangement could still change.
