The American political stage just got more dramatic. Donald Trump launched a blistering attack on Elon Musk via his Truth Social account, calling the tech billionaire a “political train wreck” after Musk announced the creation of a new political force — the American Party. According to Trump, Musk has “completely derailed” and is now driving straight into political disaster.

💥 Third Party? Trump Says Absolutely Not

Trump dismissed the idea of a third political party as a “path to chaos” and warned that such efforts have never succeeded in the U.S. “The system just isn’t built for it,” he said, adding that Americans have had enough turmoil from the Democrats.

But Musk argues voters are hungry for change. He cited internal polling showing that two-thirds of Americans would support a new political party. According to Musk, both Republicans and Democrats are part of a corrupt single system, and the country needs something truly new.

Tensions escalated when Trump celebrated the repeal of the federal electric vehicle mandate, a key promise of his campaign. “Americans deserve a choice — gas, hybrid, or anything else,” Trump said. Musk didn’t hold back either. He slammed the newly passed bill as “political suicide for the GOP,” claiming it would cost millions of American jobs. Trump quickly fired back, threatening to investigate Musk’s federal contracts, and even hinted that he might “look into deporting Elon.”

In response, Musk pledged financial support to Congressman Thomas Massie, who voted against Trump’s bill. That same day, Trump told reporters he would explore deportation options. The situation turned so intense that Russian politician Dmitry Novikov told TASS that Russia could offer Musk political asylum, though he doubted Musk would need it.

📉 Musk’s Popularity Drops, but Support for His Party Rises

Trump’s offensive seems to be working — a YouGov poll in June found Musk’s popularity among Republicans dropped 20 points, his lowest ever with that group. But the story doesn’t end there.

A separate poll by Quantus Insights showed that nearly 40% of Americans would consider supporting Musk’s new party. That number is raising eyebrows on both sides of the political spectrum.
