According to Foresight News, NEAR has announced a significant improvement in its blockchain performance, offering a block time of 600 milliseconds and a finality time of 1.2 seconds. This advancement is attributed to NEAR's Doomslug consensus mechanism, which ensures substantial finality guarantees by constructing a block at the top layer. Only malicious attacks that can be penalized are capable of reversing the previous block.
The finality time, which is the duration required for transactions to become irreversible, is now 1.2 seconds. This is ten times faster than Solana and over 600 times quicker than Ethereum and Layer 2 solutions. NEAR's enhancements mark a notable leap in blockchain technology, providing users with faster and more secure transaction processing.
