According to Cointelegraph, hardware wallet provider Ledger has confirmed that its Discord server has been secured. On May 11, an attacker hacked an admin account and posted scam links to trick users into revealing their seed phrases. Ledger team member Quintin Boatwright stated that the issue was quickly contained, compromised accounts were removed, malicious bots were deleted, and relevant permissions were reviewed and strengthened. Some users reported that the attacker abused their privileges to mute them, which may have delayed Ledger's response. Ledger has taken additional measures to enhance Discord security. The attacker had used the compromised account to post false vulnerability information, luring users to verify recovery phrases. It remains unclear if anyone was affected. Cointelegraph has reached out to Ledger for comments. In April, scammers had mailed letters asking Ledger users to verify their seed phrases, using Ledger's logo and address to disguise legitimacy. In July 2020, Ledger's database was hacked, compromising the information of over 270,000 customers.
