The Tariff Commission of the State Council of China stated on Wednesday that it will suspend the additional 24% tariff on American goods for a period of one year, while maintaining the 10% levy, as part of measures to implement the agreements reached during recent trade consultations between China and the United States.

According to the official statement, the adjustment was approved by the State Council and will take effect at 13:01 local time on November 10, 2025.

The Commission stated that the continuation of the suspension of certain bilateral tariffs is aimed at promoting "healthy, stable, and sustainable development" of trade and economic relations between China and the United States, which will benefit the peoples of both countries.

This move followed the recent meeting of Presidents Xi Jinping and Donald Trump in South Korea and signals a cautious easing of trade tensions between the two largest economies in the world.
