🔥 The US announces strong sanctions against Russia, global oil prices rise
➡️ The administration of US President Donald Trump announced on October 22, strong sanctions targeting the two largest oil companies in Russia.
➡️ Accordingly, the new sanctions package from the US focuses on Rosneft and Lukoil, along with 34 subsidiaries of these two oil companies. This move is made in an effort to apply maximum pressure on Russia, forcing Moscow to negotiate a peace agreement in Ukraine.
➡️ Notably, the sanctions announcement came a day after the White House announced the postponement of a scheduled meeting in Hungary between Donald Trump and President Putin, as Washington expressed disappointment over the lack of progress in ceasefire negotiations with Russia.
