#CZ - Binance co-founder Yi He responds to rumors of $20 billion withdrawal
Binance co-founder and customer service director, Yi He, has had a sarcastic reaction to rumors suggesting that the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange has seen over $20 billion withdrawn from the platform in the past week.
“If you are a crypto KOL and someone pays you less than $20,000 to post FUD about Binance, consider that an insult,” Yi He wrote on X. “That is the standard price they pay others. If we can help people make money by posting a $20,000 criticism of Binance, then it is our honor.”
This statement was reposted by Yi He along with a post from famous investor El Jaboom, who rebutted the rumor of mass withdrawals with data from DeFiLlama, showing that Binance actually recorded over $4 billion in inflows just in the past 24 hours.
The origin of the rumor stemmed from a post by CoinGlass at the end of Tuesday, indicating that Binance had a net withdrawal of $21.75 billion over 7 days, prompting hundreds of X users to share and call for leaving the exchange.
However, according to data from DeFiLlama, Binance was not facing withdrawals; on the contrary, it recorded inflows of about $900 million in the past week and over $4 billion just in the most recent 24 hours.
CoinGlass also included a disclaimer stating that the data “is collected from publicly available third-party sources” and the exchange “does not verify or guarantee the accuracy or timeliness of the information”.
This is not the first time this week that Binance has had to defend itself against rumors...
