I rarely judge a crypto project by how impressive its architecture looks anymore.
After watching countless narratives come and go, I've learned that elegant technology is only the beginning. The real challenge is whether developers keep building and whether users keep coming back long after the hype disappears.
That's why OpenGradient has my attention.
Its vision of decentralized infrastructure for hosting, running, and verifying AI models addresses a problem that is becoming increasingly important as AI enters real-world applications. The idea of combining verifiable AI with privacy-preserving technologies like zero-knowledge proofs is certainly compelling.
But compelling ideas have never been enough.
Crypto has seen many projects with outstanding engineering that struggled because they were too complex, introduced too much friction, or simply solved problems that weren't urgent for most users.
Phase 1 won't answer every question, but it will begin answering the only one that really matters:
Can OpenGradient move beyond technical promise and become infrastructure that developers genuinely choose to use?
I'm watching with curiosity—but I'll let real adoption, not early excitement, shape my opinion.
