What is Linea?

Linea is a Layer-2 (L2) network built on top of Ethereum. It uses zkEVM + zero-knowledge rollups to scale Ethereum: transactions are processed off-chain, then cryptographic proofs are submitted to Ethereum for security.

Because it’s “EVM-equivalent,” any dApp, smart contract, or tool that works on Ethereum can be deployed on Linea without code changes.

The main goals: lower fees, faster transactions, and improved scalability, while preserving Ethereum’s decentralization and security.
