For a while, I thought the hardest part of bringing financial markets onchain was building the blockchain itself. Then I started looking at what Dusk is doing with actual financial institutions, and I’m not sure that’s the hardest part anymore. Infrastructure can exist for years, but it only becomes interesting when regulated assets and real market participants actually start using it. That’s what made the NPEX connection stand out to me. NPEX is an AFM-regulated exchange, licensed as an MTF, Broker and ECSP, and the plan is to bring 300M+ EUR in assets onchain through Dusk. That number got my attention, but more than the size, I found myself thinking about what it represents. This isn’t just another project saying institutions will eventually come onchain. There’s an actual regulated venue involved. 🤯 Then I started thinking about how different that is from the way we usually talk about adoption in crypto. We tend to count users, transactions and liquidity because those are easy things to see. But financial markets have another layer to them. The institutions involved need the infrastructure, permissions and regulatory framework to work together before putting serious assets onchain even becomes realistic. That makes partnerships like NPEX feel much more meaningful to me. I still think the real test is what happens when these plans turn into actual financial activity 😂. But that’s also what makes Dusk interesting to watch. The bigger question isn’t whether blockchain can represent a security. We already know it can. It’s whether regulated institutions can actually use that infrastructure to move real financial markets onchain. That’s the part I’m watching now. @Dusk_Foundation #dusk $DUSK

I keep coming back to one question when I look at privacy in regulated finance: what happens when something needs to stay private, but someone still needs to verify it? That’s where Dusk started making more sense to me. The goal doesn’t seem to be making everything disappear. It’s making privacy useful without throwing verification out of the picture. That’s also why the way Dusk approaches programmable privacy caught my attention. Confidential transactions can keep sensitive details protected while zero-knowledge proofs can still help prove that the transaction follows the required rules. So privacy isn’t really the end point here. It becomes something that can be designed around the needs of the application. 🤯 Then I started thinking about how different that is from the usual idea of blockchain transparency. Seeing everything might work for some applications, but a regulated market can’t always expose every trade, balance or financial detail to everyone. At the same time, regulators and authorized parties still need enough information to do their job. Dusk is trying to sit right in that uncomfortable space between the two. I’m not sure yet how far programmable privacy can go in real financial markets 😂, but I like the problem Dusk is trying to solve. Maybe the future isn’t about choosing between complete transparency and complete secrecy. Maybe it’s about making visibility itself programmable, so the right information reaches the right people without exposing everything else. @Dusk_Foundation #dusk $DUSK
