Ich habe jahrelang gesehen, wie Krypto glänzende Objekte hinterherjagt. Erst sollte jede neue Coin die nächste Bitcoin werden. Dann kam die endlose Welle der „Ethereum-Killer“. Ich erinnere mich, wie ich diese Pitches auf Konferenzen gehört habe, wie ich polierte Whitepaper gelesen habe und wie Social Media jeden zweiten Monat einen neuen Gewinner ausrief. Die meisten dieser Projekte sind in den Hintergrund gerückt. Jetzt sind wir im KI-Kapitel angekommen, und plötzlich behauptet jedes Protokoll, dass sein intelligenter Agent den Menschen überlegen handeln kann.
Ich habe gelernt, mich nicht von den Schlagwörtern berauschen zu lassen.

Every crypto cycle finds its favorite buzzword. A few years ago it was NFTs. Then it was the metaverse. Today, it's AI.
I've watched this industry long enough to know how these stories usually play out. The demos look incredible. The promises get bigger every week. Then reality arrives, and suddenly everyone starts asking the questions they should've asked on day one.
Can I trust this thing?
My friends outside crypto couldn't care less about rollups, execution layers, or AI agents. They just want to know whether their money is safe and whether the technology does what it claims. Honestly, that's the only question that matters.
That's why Newton Protocol (NEWT) stood out to me.
Instead of trying to sell another magical AI trader, it's focused on the part most people ignore: the infrastructure. The goal is a secure rollup built for AI-driven strategies, automated trading, and a marketplace where developers can create and share AI-powered financial tools. It isn't the loudest pitch in crypto. If anything, it's surprisingly restrained.
I've seen this movie before. During the "Ethereum killer" era, dozens of projects claimed they'd replace everything that came before them. Most disappeared once the hype faded because building dependable infrastructure is much harder than writing ambitious whitepapers.
Newton faces that same reality.
Security has to survive real market stress, not just test environments. Developers have to show up. Users need a reason to stay long after the excitement wears off. That's a difficult road, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
Still... I like where it's aiming.
The technology that changes industries usually isn't the technology people talk about every day. Think about cloud computing. Most people never think about it, yet they rely on it constantly. That's what good infrastructure looks like. It fades into the background.
If Newton Protocol succeeds, people won't be discussing its rollup or debating its architecture. They'll simply use applications powered by it because they work, and because they trust them.
To me, that's the real finish line.
The best technology isn't the one making the most noise on social media. It's the one that quietly becomes part of everyday life until nobody notices it's there anymore.

Nachdem ich jahrelang über Krypto berichtet habe, bin ich skeptisch geworden, sobald ein Projekt „KI“ auf die Titelseite setzt. Ich habe diesen Kreislauf schon zu oft gesehen. Erinnerst du dich an den ICO-Boom? Dann folgte die endlose Parade der „Ethereum-Killer“. Danach sollten NFTs das Internet neu definieren, und das Metaverse wurde als der Ort angepriesen, an dem wir längst alle arbeiten und uns treffen würden. Die meisten dieser Geschichten sind... schlecht gealtert.
Als ich zum ersten Mal auf Newton Protocol gestoßen bin, war mein Instinkt nicht Begeisterung. Es war Misstrauen.
Dann habe ich die Buzzwords hinter mir gelassen.
