According to Sina Finance, three people familiar with the matter said Nvidia has agreed to invest $2 billion in power infrastructure developer Lancium. The company provides power support services for the OpenAI and Oracle AI campus in Texas.

According to Sina Finance, Nvidia also pledged to add another $1 billion if the developer secures more planned power resources. People familiar with the matter said the deal values Lancium at about $10 billion, including the investment and corporate debt, and would give Nvidia about a 20% stake. After the additional $1 billion investment, Nvidia's stake could rise to about 30% if several of Lancium's campuses meet agreed conditions, including grid connections.

According to Sina Finance, the transaction comes as power supply for AI data centers becomes increasingly tight, and it is intended to help Nvidia secure several gigawatts of planned power capacity for chip customers' data projects.
