According to CNBC, DuPont issued weaker-than-expected guidance for the second half of the year even as second-quarter revenue and adjusted earnings topped estimates. Revenue rose 4% from a year earlier to $1.82 billion, above the $1.81 billion consensus, while adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.88 versus the $1.76 estimate. DuPont also said weakness in the Middle East hurt growth in its water business, but CEO Lori Koch said the company expects better performance in that unit in the second half, helped by several large projects in the region. The company raised its full-year outlook for organic sales growth to slightly above 4% and lifted its adjusted EPS guidance range to $7.17 to $7.32 from $7.02 to $7.16.
