#baby $BABY I keep coming back to the gap between a contract executing correctly and a person feeling like it executed correctly.

With Babylon, BTC stakers use timelock scripts to stake without handing custody to anyone else. When they want out, there's an unbonding period, a fixed stretch of time before the BTC is actually free to move again. The rules for that wait are written in advance. Nobody can change them once staking starts.

Usually in crypto, "trustless" gets treated as the whole story. Babylon does something narrower. It removes the need to trust a person, but it doesn't remove the wait itself. That's fine in theory, until you're the one watching a countdown with your BTC locked and no one to ask for an update.

Correct and reliable aren't the same thing. A system can behave exactly as designed and still leave someone unsure whether it's working. Confidence isn't just enforcement, it's whether the timing and the communication around that timing match what the user expected going in.

Can Babylon make the waiting period feel as solid as the guarantee behind it? Still an open question to me.
