😳Putin has doubled down on Russia’s war stance, saying Moscow will push to meet all objectives militarily if Ukraine doesn’t agree to a deal. Speaking in China after a major military parade — seen as a signal to Donald Trump and the US-led world order — he dismissed calls for a ceasefire as Russian troops advanced.

Trump has tried to mediate, hosting Putin in Alaska last month and even pushing for a meeting with Zelensky. Putin, while praising Trump’s “sincere desire,” has resisted, suggesting Zelensky could come to Moscow — a move Ukraine called “unacceptable.”

Meanwhile, UK Defence Secretary John Healey, visiting Kyiv, said Trump had at least drawn Putin to the table, but stressed that Britain and allies were ready to tighten economic pressure on Moscow and boost Ukraine’s defences.

On Wednesday, Trump insisted Putin “knows where I stand,” brushing off criticism that he has not done enough, and pointing to secondary sanctions on India over Russian oil imports.
