🚨JUST IN: The U.S. has presented Lebanon with a proposal calling for the disarmament of Hezbollah and other armed factions by November, in return for halting Israeli military operations.
U.S. envoy Thomas Barrack delivered the proposal on June 19, requesting an official response by July 1.
Key elements of the plan include phased disarmament, Israeli troop withdrawal from southern Lebanon, strengthened ties with Syria, financial reforms, and a UN-monitored prisoner release framework.
Lebanese officials from the offices of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, President Joseph Aoun, and Speaker Nabih Berri are currently drafting a response. While Hezbollah is cooperating with the committee, it has not agreed to disarm.
