According to PANews, Malaysia's central bank has initiated a three-year exploration program focused on the tokenization of real-world assets. This initiative includes the establishment of a digital asset innovation center and an industry working group to gather feedback on potential applications, ranging from supply chain finance to Islamic financial products.
The central bank's latest report outlines a phased implementation plan, beginning with proof-of-concept and pilot projects in 2026, followed by an expansion of trials in 2027. The bank has invited industry stakeholders to submit application case opinions by March 1, 2026, while also specifying which cases meet the experimental conditions.
