🚨👀😱 $1.5 billion of BlackRock's fund left Ethereum Ethena Labs Redistributes Collateral to Aptos, Avalanche, and Polygon Networks BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, has seen a significant portion of its tokenized fund, the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL), migrate off the Ethereum network. A total of $1.5 billion was withdrawn in a major redistribution move executed by Ethena Labs. Ethena Labs, which utilizes BUIDL as collateral for its USDtb stablecoin, moved the massive sum across several major cryptocurrency networks. The funds were evenly split, with $500 million allocated to each of the Aptos, Avalanche, and Polygon networks. This migration drastically reduced the BUIDL supply on Ethereum. According to data from Entropy Advisors, the BUIDL total on Ethereum dropped from approximately $2.49 billion to just $991 million. This single action moved 82% of USDtb’s collateral away from the Ethereum blockchain. Despite the change in network location, the tokenized assets will continue to function as backing for the USDtb stablecoin, which is fully collateralized by BUIDL. The ultimate backing for the fund itself remains in off-network assets, namely short-term US Treasury securities. Launched in 2024, BUIDL is a core component of BlackRock's strategy to tokenize real-world assets (RWA). The fund provides qualified investors with dollar-denominated returns and enables instant digital trading without the traditional need for clearinghouses, representing a significant step forward for institutional participation in the decentralized finance space. $ETH

🚨💥⚡️ Federal Reserve Lowers Interest Rates, Ends Balance Sheet Reduction The Fed just played ball (in the eyes of some) and cut interest rates by 25 basis points to 3.75–4.00%. It also said it’ll stop shrinking its balance sheet on December 1. That marks the second cut this year, indicating the central bank is beginning to worry more about a cooling job market than sticky inflation. Futures traders are already betting on another cut in December, but Powell’s made it clear they’ll be keeping things data-driven for now. There was no big fanfare in the markets to accompany the announcement. Yields dipped, the dollar softened, and crypto barely moved.
