Their project raised $30 million (with backing from Binance Labs) and launched its mainnet in March 2025. Since then, it’s attracted major partners like Sushi DEX, pumpBTC, and oracles Pyth and RedStone.
At its core sits the @Hemi Virtual Machine (HVM) a hybrid engine that merges a Bitcoin node with Ethereum compatibility. It lets BTC and ETH communicate directly through secure “tunnels,” backed by Proof-of-Proof to ensure every move stays anchored to Bitcoin’s strength. Things really heated up this month when Dominari, linked to Trump, teamed up with Hemi on regulated Bitcoin treasuries and ETF platforms. The goal? To let big investors tokenize Bitcoin and use it inside Ethereum’s DeFi systems safely and legally.
Garzik summed it up perfectly:
“Bitcoin doesn’t need fixing; it needs wings. Hemi gives it Ethereum’s flight without losing its strength.”The community seems to agree.
