#EthereumSecurityInitiative

The Ethereum Foundation has launched the "Trillion Dollar Security" initiative, a comprehensive effort to enhance Ethereum's security and make it a reliable infrastructure for the global economy. This ecosystem-wide project aims to protect trillions of dollars in assets and ensure billions of individuals can securely store over $1,000 onchain.

*Main Purpose*

*Mapping Security Landscape*: Identify strengths and vulnerabilities across Ethereum's technology stack, including UX, wallet security, smart contracts, infrastructure, consensus protocols, and internet infrastructure.

*Executing Improvements*: Implement high-priority fixes and allocate investments for long-term projects to address identified vulnerabilities.

*Effective Communication*: Educate users about Ethereum's security features and standards, enabling them to evaluate and compare its security with other blockchains and legacy systems.

*Initiative Leadership:*

The project is led by Fredrik Svantes (Protocol Security Lead) and Josh Stark (EF management team), supported by ecosystem stewards:

*Samczsun*: Founder of the Security Alliance (SEAL) and security advisor at Paradigm.

*Mehdi Zerouali*: Co-founder and director of Sigma Prime, a blockchain security and research company.

*Zach Obront*: Co-founder of Etherealize, building products to move global financial infrastructure onto Ethereum.

*Community Involvement:*

The Ethereum Foundation invites the community to contribute to the initiative by sharing perspectives and input on areas where Ethereum's security needs improvement. This collaborative approach ensures the initiative addresses real-world security concerns and enhances Ethereum's overall security posture.
