I think that a monthly RSI ~91 for GOLD is a ‘phase-transition’ signal, not a ceiling. It screams two things at once … parabolic trend + rising odds of a violent shakeout. What’s driving it (structural, not just cyclical)… • Fiscal dominance: giant, persistent deficits financed at negative political tolerance for real rates → investors seek non-liability collateral. • Central-bank bid: steady EM accumulation + de-risking FX reserves keeps a floor under dips. • Geopolitics + FX: more policy volatility and a softer dollar = higher gold beta. • Collateral premium: in a world short of pristine collateral, gold’s “no one else’s IOU” feature gets repriced. My Tactical read!! • RSI >90 rarely persists without 10–20% air-pockets. Expect fast mean-reversion windows (days/weeks), then trend resumes if real yields don’t lurch higher. • Don’t chase leverage into verticals. Keep a core and trade a sleeve: scale on red, trim into thrusts. Risk markers to watch!! • Real yields (sustained >2% would bite). • DXY breadth turns. • COT/net length extremes + 4-week ETF inflows at 95th pct. • Shanghai premium/lease rates/forward spreads (stress = stickier tops). Positioning ideas (strictly not advice)! • Core: physical/low-fee ETFs/royalty & streaming names. • Beta sleeve: silver on dips; quality miners with low AISC and clean balance sheets. • Hedge: short-dated puts or collars after vertical candles. Big picture is that RSI measures speed, not value. In supercycles, ‘overbought’ can be the market repricing a new regime. If policy keeps anchoring real rates and CB demand stays firm, $4k for Gold becomes a base, not a blow-off. Just my two cents!
