What is Lombard (BARD)? • Project Goal: Lombard aims to bring more DeFi functionality to Bitcoin. Primarily, to let Bitcoin be more usable: staking, lending, borrowing, cross-chain transfers, etc. • Token Sale & Valuation: BARD had a community sale aimed at raising about US$6.75 million, but it oversubscribed heavily (by ~1,400%) and ended up raising about US$94.7 million. • Supply and Circulation: • Total supply: 1,000,000,000 BARD • Circulating supply at listing: about 225,000,000 BARD (≈ 22.5%) Ecosystem & Token Utility / Innovation • Bitcoin DeFi: Lombard is pushing to enable DeFi on top of Bitcoin — historically Bitcoin has been more “store of value” than “programmable finance.” Lombard wants to change that, e.g. with liquid staking (LBTC), lending/borrowing, cross-chain functions. • Security via Staking: BARD can be staked to help secure the protocol — especially cross-chain transfers (e.g. with Chainlink CCIP and Symbiotic infrastructure) and in securing LBTC bridges/transfers. • Ecosystem Development & Incentives: A portion of supply is earmarked for contributors, developers, ecosystem grants, marketing, etc. This is meant to drive growth and build out integrations. • Protocol Utility: BARD holders may receive preferential access and terms in Lombard’s product suite, e.g. better yields, priority access.
