Robinhood’s move to enable staking for $ETH and $SOL makes perfect sense: it’s about putting decentralized finance tools right into the hands of retail investors.
Staking - once a regulatory red flag in the U.S. is now getting “cleaned up,” rebranded through sleek interfaces, wrapped in legal wrappers, and sold as “retail-friendly.” And Robinhood doesn’t need to build DeFi , just domesticate it.
By letting users stake directly on a familiar platform, the friction drops. The mental barrier breaks. Suddenly, staking isn’t a crypto-native ritual it’s just another button in your app. That’s how habits are shaped.
But then again … is it still decentralized?
