Final Lesson of the Markets Tab Series

By now, we’ve explored most of the Markets Tab on Binance. In this final lesson of our Markets Tab Series, we’ll complete the picture by learning about the remaining sub-sections: Crypto, Spot, Futures, Alpha, New, and Zones.

These tabs together form the heart of Binance’s market intelligence section, giving you a full snapshot of what’s happening in the crypto world.

WHAT Is the “Crypto” Section?

The Crypto section is your master list of all cryptocurrencies listed on Binance.

Think of it as Binance’s version of a coin encyclopedia that shows nearly every token available, along with their latest market data.

When you go to: Binance > Markets > Crypto, you’ll find a table showing:

  • Token name & symbol

  • Current price

  • 24-hour price change (%)

  • Market capitalization

  • Trading volume

You can sort coins by performance or filter them by category such as Layer 1, DeFi, or AI tokens.

WHY It Matters

This is your starting point to explore the crypto ecosystem. It helps you discover which coins exist, which are trending, and how they compare.

WHAT Is the “Spot” Section?

The Spot section shows all the crypto pairs available for spot trading on Binance.

Spot trading means buying or selling a cryptocurrency directly at current market price without leverage.

When you open: Markets > Spot, you’ll see pair lists such as BTC/USDT, ETH/BNB, or SOL/FDUSD. You can filter pairs by their quote currency, for example:

  • USDT pairs (most common)

  • BTC pairs

  • BNB pairs

  • FDUSD pairs

HOW To Use It

If you’re planning to buy a crypto manually (not through Convert or Earn), you’ll usually come to this section first to find your trading pair.

WHY It Matters

This is where real price discovery happens where buyers and sellers meet. Understanding this section is key to becoming confident in trading.

WHAT Is the “Futures” Section?

The Futures section focuses on crypto derivatives where traders speculate on the future price of a coin rather than owning it.

When you go to: Markets > Futures, you’ll see contracts such as BTCUSDT Perpetual, ETHUSDC Quarterly, etc. It displays data like:

  • 24-hour volume

  • Funding rate

  • Open interest (total contracts held)

Important

Futures trading is for advanced users only because it involves leverage (borrowing funds to multiply exposure).

WHY It Matters

Even if you don’t trade futures, watching this section gives insights into market sentiment, whether traders expect prices to rise or fall.

WHAT Is the “Alpha” Section?

The Alpha section is one of Binance’s newest features that provides research backed insights about emerging crypto projects and trends.

When you open: Markets > Alpha, you’ll find project reports, narrative breakdowns, and AI-driven insights prepared by Binance Research or community analysts.

Example: You might find an analysis on “AI Tokens,” “Real World Assets,” or “Layer-2 Networks,” explaining their growth and use cases.

WHY It Matters

Alpha helps you learn before you invest. It’s Binance’s attempt to simplify complex market research for everyday users.

WHAT Is the “New” Section?

The New section is exactly what it sounds like, it lists the most recently launched or newly listed tokens on Binance.

Markets > New You’ll find:

  • Recently added coins

  • Listing date

  • Initial performance (price change since launch)

WHY It Matters

Newly listed coins often experience high volatility and volume in their early days. This tab helps you track fresh market entries but also reminds you to stay cautious until prices stabilize.

WHAT Is the “Zones” Section?

The Zones section categorizes the entire Binance market into specific themes or sectors, helping you understand what kind of projects exist in the crypto world.

When you go to: Markets > Zones, you’ll see categories such as:

  • DeFi (Decentralized Finance)

  • AI & Big Data

  • Gaming / GameFi

  • Layer 1 / Layer 2

  • Stablecoins

  • NFT & Metaverse

Click any zone to see which tokens belong to that theme, along with live performance data.

WHY It Matters

Crypto isn’t one big market rather it’s made of smaller sectors. Zones help you see which sectors are growing, cooling off, or dominating at any time.

HOW To Use All These Tabs Efficiently

Here’s a smart way to navigate them:

  1. Start with “Crypto” to view the full market.

  2. Use “Zones” to find specific sectors you’re interested in.

  3. Switch to “Spot” if you’re ready to buy or watch pairs.

  4. Check “Futures” for market sentiment.

  5. Explore “Alpha” to learn about new trends.

  6. Visit “New” to see fresh listings.

Over time, you’ll develop your own routine just like professional traders do to quickly grasp where the market stands.

Disclaimer

All tools under the Markets Tab are educational and informational.

They help you learn about the crypto ecosystem, but they’re not trading signals or financial advice.

If you’re still new, continue observing as understanding data is more valuable than chasing quick trades.
