🇺🇸 Top U.S. Crypto Lobby Groups Push for Developer Protections in New Regulation 🔒💻

On June 5, leading crypto advocacy organizations — including the DeFi Education Fund, Coin Center, Solana Policy Institute, Blockchain Association, and others — urged U.S. lawmakers to safeguard software developers and infrastructure providers in upcoming crypto regulations. 🏛️🧑‍⚖️

They called for the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) to be added to the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act of 2025, a newly proposed bill aiming to define how the SEC and CFTC regulate digital assets. 📜⚖️

The BRCA, reintroduced by Reps. Tom Emmer and Ritchie Torres, seeks to ensure that developers of non-custodial, peer-to-peer crypto platforms are not labeled as money transmitters — a classification that could burden them with traditional financial regulations. 🚫🏦

🔊 “It is critically important to remember that developers and decentralized infrastructure providers are not traditional financial institutions and should not be treated as such,” the joint statement emphasized.

This move could be pivotal for the future of DeFi innovation in the U.S., offering clearer boundaries and greater protection for builders in the crypto space. ⚙️🚀
