According to PANews, the cross-chain DeFi project Chainge has been under scrutiny as users report being unable to access their funds for several months, with promised solutions yet to materialize. The project, led by Multichain founder DJ Qian, functions as both a cross-chain bridge and a decentralized exchange. Since late 2024 to early 2025, numerous users have complained about transaction delays, particularly with the cross-chain issues involving wrapped Kaspa (wKAS).
The Chainge team attributes the liquidity shortage to 'malicious actors abusing the service,' but the wKAS has significantly depegged, and the partnership with 'kas.fyi' has ended. On March 24, the project team assured users that the issues would be '100% resolved,' yet as of May 22, no resolution has been achieved. The front-end interface still allows cross-chain transactions, posing a risk of further fund absorption. Protos has reached out to the Chainge team for comments but has not received a response.
