A recent CoinGecko survey (Aug 22 – Sep 11, 2025, 2,549 participants) reveals: despite the rise of ETFs and digital asset trusts (DATs), most investors stick to the classic—buying and holding spot Bitcoin.

Breakdown:
• 92.8% – Spot BTC
• 17.6% – ETFs
• 15.2% – Treasury companies
• 10.4% – Derivatives

Even as institutions flood the market, the HODL strategy via spot BTC reigns supreme. For most, the true value lies in direct ownership, not derivatives.
