If we look at the last 10 years of cup and handle patterns, gold has achieved this about 98.72% of the time. If we calculate from the breakout of the cup and handle, it comes out to around $4038.

The price of safe assets rises when big economies like the USA, China, Japan raise interest rates, or when a smaller country sells the bonds of a bigger country, or during war situations, safe assets get pumped. If we look at the current situation, Japan is selling US bonds so that Japan can pay interest. If Japan continues to sell US bonds in the market, we will see an increase in US bond yields. If this happens, the yield in the US bond market will increase, which is bad for the market. Previously, the US Federal Reserve governor also said that if this happens, they will start QE (Quantitative Easing) to stabilize the financial market. "If you look at gold, gold is a safe asset. Quantitative easing (QE) or a decrease in interest rates is necessary for safe assets to stop the uptrend rally. Recently, the USA has decreased interest rates; this is a fundamental thing. If we look at it technically, gold has been in an uptrend since October 2, 2023. Where could a downtrend start? If we look at the gold chart, I've added Fib levels. In Fib levels, the 0.5 level is important. If it declines from the 0.5 level, it comes to the 0 level. If it breaks out upside from the 0.5 level, it goes to the 1 level. Similarly, if it breaks out from the 1 level, it goes to the 1.618 level. If it declines from the 1 level, there's a high chance it will retest the 0.5 level. The same applies to the 1.618, 2.618, and 3.618 levels. If we look at gold recently, around August 25, 2025, it broke out of the 2.618 Fibonacci retracement level. If a level breaks out, there's a high chance the Fibonacci will test the upper level. So, the next resistance is around the 3.618% level, which comes out to a price of $4016. $4016 could be the top for gold this season. In past seasons, gold has mostly seen rejection at the 1.618 or 2.618 levels, but this time tariffs have brought the price of gold much higher.
