According to a recentreport by Politico, House Republican leaders intend to hold a vote on key cryptocurrency legislation as soon as this week.

The lawmakers will be considering a package that will include stablecoin rules with the crypto market structure bill (the CLARITY Act).

It was initiallyreported that the Republicans were considering merging the bills earlier this month in order not to lose the current legislative momentum.

For now, there are no details about how these bills will be combined. In fact, it is unclear whether they will actually be voted on together.

According to Punchbowl News reporter Brendan Pedersen, Majority Whip Tom Emmer stated that House Republicans would vote on the stablecoin bill (the GENIUS Act) that was passed by the Senate if it gets combined with market structure reforms.

The House committees previously advanced the market structure legislation in June. The ambitious bill aims to change the regulatory structure overseeing the cryptocurrency industry.

The timeline of the possible vote remains uncertain, and it could end up getting postponed.
