Ripple announced a number of new partnerships in Taiwan and Australia. The UBRI group is working together with the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan. University researchers will look into the tokenization of non-virtual assets using XRPL, Ethereum, and Solana. The grant will also support student-led initiatives, including a validator node and builder’s club.

In Australia, Ripple expanded funding to Victoria University. This adds to its existing partnership with the Australian National University. Ripple’s total investment in Australian universities has reached $1.3 million. The Australian National University will continue its research on blockchain law and smart contracts.

Ongoing Support in Japan, South Korea, and Singapore

Ripple continued its cooperation with firms from Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. UBRI donated $1.5 million to Kyoto University and the University of Tokyo in Japan. The money is allocated to research and educational activities in the field of blockchain.

In South Korea, Korea University received $1.1 million for advanced blockchain research. Yonsei and Hanyang universities also continue to receive funding. Their focus areas include privacy technologies like zk-SNARKs and layer-2 scaling solutions.

Singapore remains a key part of Ripple’s education investment strategy. UBRI renewed grants to Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore. These universities focus on artificial intelligence integration with blockchain systems. A student DAO supported by Ripple was also launched at NUS, the first of its kind in Asia.

Ripple Broadens Presence with Strategic Education Funding

With this $5 million expansion, Ripple’s total contribution to UBRI in Asia now exceeds $11 million. The company aims to build a steady pipeline of blockchain talent and practical research. This initiative supports institutions in regions known for rapid digital adoption and forward-thinking regulations.

Ripple’s education efforts align with its broader strategy in Asia. Recent moves include the launch of the XRPL Japan and Korea Fund in 2024 and partnerships with Web3 groups. Ripple also supports the XRP Tracker Fund, Asia’s first institutional XRP investment vehicle.

The next UBRI Connect event will highlight student-led projects. It will be hosted alongside the XRP Ledger Apex summit at the National University of Singapore.
