Gary Cardone, the twin brother of Grant Cardone, has openly criticized Ripple's native token, comparing its role in the financial sector to the impact of Covid-19. Cardone, who has over 40 years of financial experience, is concerned about the reported use of XRP Ledger as the platform for the digital euro. This project, a collaboration between the ECB, XRP Ledger, and the WhiteNetwork, is seen as threatening by some cryptocurrency experts due to its association with a central bank digital currency, which could give authorities more control over funds. Cardone used to invest in XRP but sold his entire portfolio earlier this year because it did not meet his investment rules. He equated XRP's survival strategies to the oppressive tactics of authorities like ECB's President, Christine Lagarde.
