The point of Bitcoin isn't to give everyone self-custody of their money It's to ensure that the base layer of money is incorruptible Nobody has the power to manipulate the supply of Bitcoin Nobody can steal your Bitcoin by diluting your holdings There will never be more than 21M BTC They also won't be able to take your Bitcoin away by decreasing the supply or reversing transactions Eg. The US government sanctioned Russia and "deleted" their US Treasury bonds In the next ~30 years, the majority of people will be using Bitcoin in some way, but they will never interact with the blockchain

When I was delivering food for Uber I was getting paid to learn about Bitcoin Since I was driving 8 to 10 hours each day, I would listen to 5-7 hours of Bitcoin podcasts and audiobooks while earning money 30-50 hours of new knowledge being absorbed EACH WEEK I delivered food with Uber for almost two years That's OVER 3,000 HOURS of education I got so obsessed with Bitcoin at one point that I was even listening to podcasts at home, so definitely more than 3,000 hours in total Compared to a career in finance, I was earning less in terms of currency, but I was gaining a lot more in terms of knowledge Listening to podcasts at work would have been impossible if I continued working my job I would have had no time for creating content as I moved up the corporate ladder A lot of the work in finance careers requires serious attention to detail - a simple mistake can cost millions of dollars This is the trade-off when you work for a salary For 9-12 hours each day, my employer owned my time, attention, and energy I would have been able to spend a lot less time learning about Bitcoin and I would have taken much longer to figure it out Meaning I would have probably waited to buy And it would have cost me a lot more to buy the same amount of Bitcoin that I have Sometimes, taking a pay cut is worth it!
