British AI Firm 'Builder' Declares Bankruptcy Amid Outsourcing Scandal
A British company named Builder, which had positioned itself as an artificial intelligence innovator for the past eight years, has abruptly declared bankruptcy following a major scandal.
Despite its public claims of leveraging advanced AI technologies, it was revealed that the company had in fact been relying on a workforce of approximately 700 remote employees based in India to perform the tasks attributed to AI systems. The disclosure sparked significant backlash and severely damaged the company’s credibility.
The extent of the deception ultimately proved unsustainable, leading to a collapse in investor and client confidence. As a result, Builder was left with no viable path forward and was forced to cease operations and file for bankruptcy.
