According to Casey Rodarmor, the founder of Bitcoin NFT protocol, Ordinals, has reached out to the community for suggestions on the details surrounding the creation of RUNE, including its name, currency symbol, divisibility, and minting conditions. Rodarmor is committing to transparency and fair play, affirming that the first ten Runes (0-9) might be hard-coded in an open and fair casting, with no pre-mine or preallocation involved.
In addition, Rodarmor previously announced during Taipei Blockchain Week that Runes' mainnet launch will occur at block height 840,000. This is projected to align with the timing of the next Bitcoin halving, expected to happen on April 23, 2024.
