Binance has announced its support for the BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2) network sunset plan, aligning with earlier communications from the project team in January 2024, which indicated that the BEP2 will be phased out in the coming months.
The Binance team has been diligently collaborating with all projects whose tokens are deployed on the BEP2 network. The goal is to guarantee a seamless transition process for token holders as the network sunsets.
Ahead of the BEP2 sunset, Binance advises users to deposit their BEP2 Binance-pegged tokens (B-tokens) into their Binance accounts. The tokens will be credited accordingly, and users can then withdraw them via its native chain or other chains that Binance supports.
With immediate effect, B-token withdrawals on the above-mentioned network are suspended. Meanwhile, withdrawals for all other tokens on the network will be supported until February 21, 2024, at 23:59 UTC. Post this deadline, users will not be able to withdraw tokens via the mentioned network but can use other supported networks.
The deposit support for B-tokens and selected tokens on the given network will continue until an official notice is issued. The deposit status page can be checked for further details.
