According to BlockBeats: As of December 28, Ethereum Layer 2 expansion solution, zkSync, surpassed the transaction volume of the Ethereum mainnet over the past month, according to a report from The Block. Data from L2Beat indicates that zkSync processed around 34.7 million transactions within the last 30 days, exceeding the 34.2 million transactions conducted on the Ethereum mainnet during the same interval. Arbitrum followed close behind with approx. 31.4 million transactions processed over the past 30 days.

The notable rise in zkSync's transaction volume is largely attributed to the booming "Inscription" activity, a feature initially developed on Bitcoin and subsequently expanded to the EVM network, spanning most Layer 2 blockchains.

The launch of sync Inscription on the network on December 16 led to a significant monthly transaction surge for zkSync. The network processed a total of approximately 5.3 million transactions just on that day, out of which around 4.6 million were related to Inscription transaction
