According to Foresight News, Web3 social platform Seam Social has completed a $2.5 million seed funding round led by 1kx, with participation from Seed Club, Sfermion, f7 Ventures, and Social Graph Ventures. The funds raised will be used to establish a market, attract developers to create new mini-applications, launch mobile applications, and expand the team to create customizable and user-owned social media.
Founded in 2022 by former Meta engineer Nick Confrey, Seam allows users to create custom profiles, add close friends, and share life updates. The platform is responsible for hosting a marketplace for user-created mini-applications, themes, and templates. Users earn Seam points, which they can then use to unlock and customize their profiles with mini-applications created by friends.
