On November 15, the security team SlowMist issued an alert on their blog regarding the surfacing of a new type of phishing scam. BlockBeats News reports that these scams typically initiate with the pretext of 'over-the-counter trading,' persuading the victim to transfer minor amounts (like 0.1 USDT) to check the security of their wallet.

Scammers further trick victims by providing a 'public chain' receiving address, which is actually a phishing URL, insisting that the address be entered into the wallet's browser to accomplish the transaction. When the victim goes through with it and authorizes the transaction, their assets are illicitly stolen.

To safeguard your assets, it is crucial to validate web URLs and transaction addresses before any transfer. Do not follow instructions from unverified sources or participate in suspicious 'over-the-counter' trades. Be mindful of such deceitful activities and handle transactions with caution.
