According to PANews, Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi unveiled several initiatives at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference. Mizrachi announced that Panama's second-largest bank, Caja de Ahorros, will introduce Bitcoin-based savings accounts. This move aims to provide customers with custodial services and simplify their Bitcoin transactions.
Previously, the mayor indicated plans to prioritize ships paying canal fees with Bitcoin and is considering establishing a municipal Bitcoin reserve.
