Has this ever happened to you? You copy a wallet address you want to send crypto to, when you paste the address, it shows a different address.
Its called a clipboard hijack. I never thought this could happen to me until sometime in 2022.
I was on my laptop, and I wanted to send some BNB to my wallet. I copied the wallet address from phone and sent to my other mail. Then from the laptop, I copied the address.
Without double checking, I pasted the address and hit send. Then I saw a notification on Binance that that address was connected to a scammer.
I was so grateful to Binance that day. I used Norton Power eraser to flush the laptop and the problem was resolved.
Evee since then, I always send test transactions first. And I check the first four and last four characters of the address just to be sure.
